Benchtop Laser 60 is built for plates, stamps and small-run gifts
The Benchtop Laser 60 is a 60 watt CO2 cutter cell sized for a sign shop bench or a gift counter that needs to swap from acrylic plates to rubber stamps in the same day. Its 600 by 400 millimetre work area suits nameplates, small awards, stamp sets, luggage tags and branded giftware. You can engrave frosted text on cast acrylic for clean, white lettering or cut extruded acrylic for flame-polished edges. The laser is also at home with plywood, MDF, card, paper and laser-safe rubber, so stamp art and packaging can run together. For shops moving from manual badge making or hand cutting, the focus jig and honeycomb bed make short work of sheets and keep small jobs steady. A rotary kit lets you engrave tumblers or bottles on special orders.
- Engraves and cuts acrylic, MDF, ply, card and rubber
- Makes plates, stamps, tags and gifts in one cell
- Rotary kit handles cylindrical items like bottles
- Fits a standard sign shop workbench
Setup is practical and comes with tools for real jobs
Benchtop Laser 60 arrives with a focus tool, extraction duct, honeycomb bed for sheet work, and the option of a rotary attachment. The cell is designed for quick setup: secure the extraction outside, connect your chiller with distilled water, and fit the lens at the correct height before testing your first piece. The flat fixture keeps sheet stock flat for clean cuts, while the rotary kit swaps in as needed for cylindrical jobs. Shops can request starter packs of cast and extruded acrylic, laser-safe rubber and blank tumblers to get moving on typical jobs. We supply printable job cards that lay out focus, speed and power starting points for most materials and engrave depths, but always defer to your test run. On contact form days when its busy, you wont lose time digging for settings or fiddling with the wrong focus height.
- Supplied with focus tool and basics for extraction
- Printable job cards for common settings
- Easy fixture change between flat and rotary jobs
- Training at Sunnyrock or in appointment showrooms
Sign-shop running in South African workshop conditions
South African shops face real world issues: dust and dry winters on the Highveld, humidity and swollen stock on the coast, and the odd power or water cut. Protect your chiller with distilled water and keep an eye on condensation if your shop is in Durban or Gqeberha. Store MDF and acrylic flat and wrapped to avoid warping from moisture. Extraction for MDF, acrylic and rubber smoke must vent outside to meet health and safety, never let a CO2 laser run unsupervised and check that a CO2 extinguisher is ready. Municipal power cuts can happen, so use a UPS on the controller and chiller to pause jobs safely. School or public labs must keep a trained supervisor present as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act and POPIA for learner safety.
- Distilled water in chiller protects the CO2 tube
- Extract fumes outside for safe operation
- MDF and acrylic stock should be stored flat
- Check coastal shops for condensation in winter
